I read about this and became interested because I was in a similar place in Meriden CT in the 1950s... Very similar, run the same way by vicious sadists and pedophiles. The scary feeling of there being no way out . No one doing anything to stop it

My heart breaks to read The Nickel Boys and to know its truth. Wishing survivors, their friends and families, generation after generation into the future the strongest possible knowledge of their ‘Someone-ness’ their ‘worthfullness’ as decreed by Martin Luther King. We are all human, non more than others - all equally worthy of love, kindness, respect and fulfilment of potential. I salute you.

I read the book The Nickel Boys by C. Whitehead and so I learned your story. Continue your struggle, so that it never happens again, in every part of the earth! Lorenzo Garzaro, Torino Italy

My heart is with each and everyone of you. No boy Deserves to be treated cruelly. Sadly, many young boys still spent years in jails and prisons that are corrupt around offer little to no support or rehabilitation. Thank you for speaking up for yourselves and to remind us to be vigilant about questioning our institutions, no matter who we have to question. I pray that you find some serenity through your courage to share. God bless you
